My Craft Room

I thought I would take a few minutes and post some pictures of my craft room which is very messy because it is a work in progress. Once I get my closet kit put together, I will be able to finally finish! My goal for 2010 is to have my room put together so I can actually find what I'm looking for. Another goal is to create projects for my blog and post them on a daily basis.
The first picture shows where I keep my designer paper and card stock. The boxes on top will eventually go in my closet.

The next picture shows where I keep my Bind It All supplies, Martha Stewart punches, gift boxes and other misc supplies.

This picture shows some of my embellishment storage as well as my ink pad storage and single wood stamps

This pictures adds the first book shelf of SU stamp sets.

And this shows both bookshelves of SU stamp sets

All the stuff on the floor will eventually be in the closet.
Like I said a "work in progress" !

A New Month

Well I see it has been a month since posting to my blog, how sad is that? As I stated in the my last post, I haven't been doing much crafting so I have no new projects to share. I guess if I'm going to get Christmas cards out this year, I had better get busy.

Just a reminder to remember our troops and their families as we enter into this holiday season. Blessings to you all.

Hello Blog Land

I've neglected my crafting for a while so I don't have a project to post, but I'm working on getting back in the groove of things. I've been organizing (or attempting) all my craft items so I would have an easier time finding things. I will be sure to post pictures when I a little more done.

One thing I know I have got to busy on are my christmas cards, it will be here in a blink of of an eye. I'm excited this year as it is Lauren's first Christmas home in three years. Just having her home is Christmas enough for me.

One more thing before I go, please remember our soldiers and their families. Wouldn't it be nice to know you made the difference in at lease one family!

A QUICK POST

Well I've neglected by blog again, but hopefully I can update more projects more often now that I have some other issues resolved. This first card is made using the SU sets Courage and Service & Sacrifice. These are two of my favorite sets and I have been playing around with different sketches, so watch for more in the future. Below is a note pad cover I'm working on. I used stamps from the SU set Note to Self.

And another card using the Service & Sacrifice set. I like using the fall colors and am really enjoying the new SU In-colors.

So that's all I have for today. I need to work on some Halloween goodies and will post when I get them made. Hope everyone is having a blessed day!

Oh my, where does time go?

Have three weeks really gone by? Hmm, when I figure out where they went, I'll let you know. In the meantime here are some cards Lauren, Nancy and I created for the SCS WishRAK Labor Day Cards For Hero's card roundup (say that three times fast).

In case you are wondering what Cards For Hero's are, they are cards that are sent to our Military men and women who are serving in Iraq and Afghanistan to have to send home to their loved ones. So if you ever have any extra cards or are looking for a project, let me know.

Thank you Lauren and Nancy NOT for your help with the roundup, BUT for your service in the U.S. Army! You girls are Hero's in my book and I love you both!

This first card was created by Lauren for the challenge of making a Christmas card using non-traditional colors. I think purple and pink fit the challenge well.

This next card was also made by Lauren. The challenge was to create an anniversary card. Isn't it soooo cute.

This next card was created by Nancy for the birthday card challenge. I just love the orange color combo she used on this card.

Another card by Lauren.

A card for the sunflower challenge.

Another card for the birthday card challenge.

Another card for the anniversary challenge.

I was playing around with some images that I had colored awhile back and this is the end result. I have a special friend that I think will enjoy this card.

Cards Completed in August

As promised - here they are!
This first card was done using paper I had cut some dies from and thought it would make a good background, so I added some flowers stamped and die cut some matching paper and this is how it all came together.
This second card is one that I re-worked several times. I had this circle designer paper and couldn't find a sketch that I was really happy with, when I remembered I had received these images from SCS Wish RAK. I cut them out with my circle punch then glued them to some paper I punched from my scallop punch and think they ended up making this a neat card.
These two cards were made using up some DSP scrap paper I had. I tried using some Shimmerz Spritz I had ordered awhile back and finally after several attempts got a shimmer to the card on the right. I don't really think you are suppose to use it on cardstock though, lol.

This card is one I had started for a challenge and put it away because I didn't know how to finish it. It was suppose to be a card that used only StampinUp supplies, but it needed the flower so I then I couldn't submit it for that challenge, but I do like the way it turned out.

This card is one I made playing around with my nesties dies. I'm still trying to decide if I like this label design.....but for now it works on this card.

And this is another card using the same nesties die and again it seemed to work on this card, but still not sure if I really like them. As you can tell I DO LIKE to use primas and flowers alot! I think they are my most used embellishments. What is your favorite embellishment?

Well the last two weeks didn't turn out to be the greatest in the world, but I'm back and trying to get caught up. I did manage to get a couple cards done and hoping to be much more productive next week. The card above is a sample, but that's all I can say right now. I will take pictures tonight of the other cards I worked on and get them posted tomorrow.

Completed Boxes for Cards Heros Project

Remember an earlier post that stated I was working on card boxes for the Cards for Hero Project, well I have finally finished the boxes and now I'm ready to start on the cards. Since this is a Labor Day challenge, I think I better get really busy making those cards. Each box will hold 25 cards and will consist of a vareity that includes: thinking of you, miss you, love you, all occasion fall, and all occasion winter cards.
Below is a close up of a box that is for a "special hero". I am hoping to have the cards posted by the end of the weekend so check back and see how far I actually get.
The challenge is over at SCS if any of you would like join. Thanks for stopping by and many blessings to you all!

I've Been a Busy Crafting Bee..............

There is a design team call that I want to apply to be on so I'm making some altered boxes for my submission. Above is a box I altered for my darling daughter.
Below is a 4 x 4 gift box that I think I'm going to give to a friend filled with........well I can't tell you until she gets the box.

Below is a card holder box that I'm going to put thinking of you and miss you cards in for the Cards for Heros Project. I haven't finished the cards yet but couldn't wait to post my box.

And last but certainly not least is a card I made using this new set from SU. I think I will be using it alot for the Cards For Heros Project. Just love it!

Now you get to tell me what you think. Until next time.....Blessings to you all!

What I'm working on today

I've had this cross image for a long time not knowing what I was going to use it for. One of my best friends called and told me she had lost a member of her family, so I knew right away I was going to make her a card with this image. I wish I knew what company makes this stamp so I could get more images, but alas I don't.
On a happier note, I'm still working on wedding card designs. I'm not real happy with certain elements of this, but I really like the initials so I'm going to try to design something around them. Check back often to see what other projects I have going.
I hope you all have a blessed day! Thanks for looking.

My Brother is Getting Married

My baby brother (he doesn't like to be called that since he is 30) is getting married next April so I wanted to make a card, a memory box and a card for my future sis-in-law. So before I started on what is going to have to be perfect, I thought I would play with some designs. This is what I have started, what do you think? Any feedback would be very much appreciated.

Criss Cross Fold Cards

Ok, so I've told you that I'm trying to use things that have been neglected while trying to put items together for a fall craft fair. What I think I may do with these and with some of the coaster is make mini 2010 calenders. I've ordered a bind it all so as soon as it comes in I'll post what one of the calenders looks like when it is complete.

Top Note Gift Bags

I have been playing around with various designer paper I've been hoarding and thought I would make some gift bags. I really love the SU Top Note Die and use it ALL the time. I'm also trying to use up some embellishments, so this is what I've got so far.

Now I just need to figure out what I'm going to do with the gift bags. Hmmmm any ideas?

Coaster Project

So I have a box of chipboard coasters and thought I would find a project I could use them for and this is what I've come up with so far. Now I just have to decide if I'm going to put a magnet on the back or use them for something else. I have about 50 of these coasters so I think I'll be busy making more. I'll let you know when I decide what I'm going to do.

Another Monday Project

So I've really been in the "altering" mood lately and this is a wooden box I altered for a friend. I really like the pink/brown combination, so simple yet so girly.

Monday's Project

I got the inspiration for this card from one that I received from a secret sister. The more I looked at it, the more I wanted to make one so here is my attempt. I really like the way the card turned out and how easy it was to make. I'm still trying to get the lighting right on pictures so you can't see that there are two different designer paper designs, but hopefully you get the idea.

I just love this stamp and think it makes a fun card.

New Blog Under Construction

Well I have finally entered into the blog world! I hope you check back often to see how my blog progresses.
