Frosty

One of my favorite snowman is this little guy from the SU Frosty set. I have had this snowflake vellum paper for several years and thought I would get it out and see what I could put together. I added a strip of SU Bashful Blue ribbon, a 3.5" x 3.5" piece of confetti cardstock, and stamped Frosty on SU Bashful Blue cardstock. I stamped the SU Christmas Punch sentiment on confetti cardstock and used my scalloped oval punch to punch it out. I colored Frosty with my Twinkling Like Stars Markers and added the snow at the bottom with my Marvy Snow Marker and heat gun. Frosty's buttons are red and green stickles and his hat is colored with my Sakura Glaze black marker.

White and Bright

Today when I decided to work on some cards, I thought I would look to some challenges for inspiration. I love Our Daily Bread stamps and use them quite frequently, so I started my day with their challenge which was to make a card using whites. Well since there are so many shades of white, this proved to be a little more difficult than I thought it would be. With that said, here are the materials I used: stamps from ODB Cross of Christ set, paper crimper, cuttlebug embossing folder, white prima flowers, frosted lace stickles, white Bella baubles, and SU ribbon. You should take a look at all the beautiful creations for this challenge, there are some really talented ladies out there.
Now I'm off to work on another card..................
Blessings,
I am entering this card in the following challenges:

Kayla's Digi

My project for today is something I made with the most adorable digi image from a budding new artist named Kayla (you can find her stamps HERE).  Now this stamp was drawn by Kayla and turned into a stamp by Stitchy Stamps ( you can find her stamps HERE).  When I look at this cute little guy all I can think is how much he needs a good friend and a hug. Wouldn't you love to take him home with you?

Since this is one of Kayla's first stamps, I decided to make a keepsake box she could keep. I know I am looking forward to working with her stamps again.

You can also follow Kayla's Blog HERE to know when she adds new stamps.  Her stamps are under the name Purple Panda Designs.

Kimono Kids

I got this new SU stamp set especially for Lauren because she loves anything oriental. I wasn't real sure what colors to use as there were several to choose from. After using yellows and greens, I wish I had chosen others so I wonder what color combo would you use for this set? I would like to make 8 - 10 cards and want to use different color combos for each so any suggestions would be welcomed.

I hope everyone in blog land is doing well. Just maybe (keyword maybe) I can finally get motivated to post more often, at least that is my fall goal.

Red, White and Blue

I received this Crafters Wood Oval from a very good friend of mine and decided to get it out today and see what I could put together. One of the projects on my "To Do" list was to make a red, white and blue item for a swap I'm in. I colored the wood block with markers, then sanded it down a little. Next I colored these cute little bugs and applied some stickles so they would sparkle. I then use my Top Note Die to cut out the image and sponged the edges. And to finish it off I added the ribbon and stars. I must say I like the finished project, but with only one item crossed off my "To Do" list I guess I better get back to crafting.

Blessings to everyone in Blog Land

Mystery Die

I received this #4 die and had to make something with it for a swap I am in. Coming up with something was very difficult.  I came up with the idea of this box.  I will fill it with candy or something before I mail it.  Over at http://onestitchatatimechallenge.blogspot.com/ the challenge that ends tonight is something new, so I  am entering this into the challenge at OSAAT as the die cut is new.

Passwords

It seems with all the new technology we are getting, we are having to make up more and more user id#'s and passwords. This wouldn't be to much of a problem if you could remember them all, but if you are like me and can't remember you resort to writing your new website information on a sticky note, the back of an envelope, or (GASP)scrap paper. So when GinaK posted a password book, a light went off and I thought "I NEED ONE!". So I followed her tutorial and made one for myself, but I wanted to try something a little different. When my friend Tammy was talking about having to change all her passwords b/c she got a virus, I thought this was my opportunity to try "that something different".
I used some prima flowers, brads, stickles, ribbon scraps, smooch and my nesties on SU cardstock. I put the tabs on the bottom so Tammy could write the name of the website which should make finding the information for that site easy to locate.
I can't wait to hear what you think.
Blessings

I am entering this into the challenge at OSAAT which is anything but a card.

A Post for Lauren

I am blessed to have two beautiful daughters who are deeply devoted to each other. Lauren (22) has been depolyed to Afghanistan and we are missing her terribly, especially Casey since this weekend will be her 16th birthday and they so wanted to spend it together. We will manage just as so many other families are doing at this time. So why post, well I wanted to ask all my fellow bloggers to consider sponsering a soilder. There are so very many soilders who don't receive any mail, much less care packages. I know so many of you have been doing something already, but it seems since this war has been going on so long and so many have moved on with their daily lives. So as a mother of a deployed soilder, I would like to "remind" my friends that this war IS STILL going on and there are daughters, sons, fathers, mothers, and other family and friends that are on the battle field so that we can have the freedom to do this hobby we all so love. Take a moment now and say a prayer for a soilder, they could all use that!

Blessings to you all,

A Shy Bear Birthday

A couple days ago my friend Heidi challenged me to make a card using one of my new images and a sketch she picked out. Of course I can't say NO to any of my friends, so I looked at the sketch and put this card together. Since I've been meaning to make a special birthday card, this seemed like the perfect time.

There are lots of elements to this card, first I colored the image then sponged it to match my color scheme. Then I stamped the two sentiments and cut them out using my circle nesties. I added brads because the background paper has glitter elements and it's hard to find adhesive that will stick. Then I added stickles around the scallop edges and to the basket as well as the tulips. Then I distressed the background paper to match my overall color theme.

I decided the folded edge needed something, so I used a strip that was left over from making a Big Shot Bigz box. And since I love adding ribbon to any project, I found this pretty ribbon with bright glitter butterflies.

I sure hope the birthday likes her card as I tried to make it extra special. A thought a plain white envelope just wouldn't do, so I added some layered circle scallops and the birthday's girls name. When I finished that I sponged the entire envelope, then packed it up and sent it on its way.
I hope all of you in blog land are having a blessed evening and I'll catch up with you after I have finished my next project.

Sweet One

Today I was chatting with a couple of SBS blogging friends about SU watercolor crayons and thought I would dust mine off and color this cute little duck. Of course when I see this duck the first thing I think of is a baby and I can always use more baby shower cards.

Another topic of our conversation was stickles, so I added some pick stickles on the border, around the oval and on the tag. I used my SU scallop border punch for the trim, my SU scallop punch for the tag and finished the card with some of my pretty pink ribbon.

Until next time..........

Where Have I Been?

It seems even with the best intentions, sometimes life just gets in the way of my craft world. Don't you hate when that happens?

This first card is for the SBS29 March challenge. It is my goal to get more challenges done and this one seemed rather simple. The image I used is one I received in a swap.

This second card just makes me laugh every time I look at this image, which I've had forever and always pull out to make get well cards. Since my stash was getting low I decided to make some more and promised Heidi I would post one to my blog. So Heidi this one is for you.

Now with two cards done, I'll end this post and hopefully be back again tomorrow. I hope you all have a very blessed day!

I'm Back :)

This past week was pretty busy and didn't allow for much craft time. My plans for this weekend are to get some serious crafting done, which should be easy since it's to cold and rainy to do anything else. Despite my hectic week I was able to complete a couple projects, so before starting something new I thought I would take a minute and post them to my blog.

This first card is a birthday card I made to put in my Ronald McDonald House stash. A little ribbon, some dew drops, prima flowers and stickles will hopefully brighten the day of a precious little girl.
This next card is my take on making a valentine's day card using non-traditional colors.
This next project is a username/password book that was demostrated by GinaK designs. I just loved this idea of having all my login information in one location. I think these would make great gifts, don't you think?
And my last project is an altered box that I made for my daughter to give to her best friend.

So now that I've posted all my completed projects, I'm off to see what I can come up with for next week. I hope everyone in blog land is staying warm and dry and having a blessed weekend.

You Are The Light

I must admit I've had a tough time with this card and now I'm having a tough with this post. So with that said, I hope you enjoy the card and have a very blessed day!

The Lord Bless You

I have two cards for my post today, again using images from my stash. Nothing too fancy with either one, tried to keep it pretty simple by lightly sponging and adding some flowers to one and dew drops to the other. I did use some smooch to color the second card and I think it turned out very well.
I hope you like them both and if you are somewhere that is getting this very cold weather, stay warm and safe. Many blessings to you all!

Tis So Sweet

This is my inspirational card for the day. Both images are from my basket of images (did I tell you it was a pretty large basket). When I use my top note die I save the negative and use it for framing other images which is what I did here. I used some stickles to add a little sparkle and some vellum scraps for the scallop border that I attached with a pop dot. I'm not sure the card is quite done, but not sure what to add - any suggestions?

Another one of my resolutions for this year was to make more cards for our military men and women. This card is one I'm going to make several of to send to my daughter to give to fellow members of her MP company. And lastly......
I want to have more thinking of you/pick me up cards on hand as I never seem to have enough. I just love this quote and the pink/brown color combo so I put the them together and came up with this card.

Now I am off to look at the challenges that have been posted and see what I can come up with to post tomorrow. I hope you are all staying warm and having a blessed day!

Fruit of the Spirit

I've had this image for a very long time and found it yesterday when I was sorting through my basket of images. I used markers and stickles to color the hearts and leaves, then sponged mauve mist ink all over and added some dew drops and brads to finish it off.

I hope you all are having a blessed day filled with lots of love!

Sisterhood of the Blogging Stampers #29

This post is to introduce myself to my fellow sisters, and I must admit I'm having a tough time with what to post.........

So I will start by telling you that I'm married to a wonderful man (Steve) who truly is my best friend. I also have two amazing and beautiful daughters; Lauren (21) is serving in the U.S. Army and Casey (15) is a sophmore. I am also blessed to have my nephew Cody (17) living with us. He is a senior and has plans to start college in the fall.

I went to a Stampin Up party in 2000 got hooked and have been rubber stamping ever since. I mostly make cards for family and friends and make projects for the nursing home my BIL was in and make card packages for the military serving in Iraq and Afganistan.

The last few years have been extremely rough for our little family, but with faith and renewed strength we start another year.

I'm so looking forward to getting to know each of my new sisters, one can never have too many sisters, right!
I hope you all have a very blessed day!
